Sanders
F. Hearne, M.D.
Dr.
Hearne was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended South Highlands
Grammar School and Broadmoor Junior High School, and graduated
from C.E. Byrd High School in 1968 on the honor roll.
Dr.
Hearne did his premedical studies at Louisiana State University
in Baton Rouge. He attended medical school at Louisiana State
University Medical Center in New Orleans gaining his degree in
1975. He served as president of the junior class and president
of the senior class. He served as vice president of the Aesculapian
Honor Society and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha (academic honor
society in medicine) during his junior year, serving as president
of that organization his senior year.
Dr.
Hearne served his internship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham
in 1976 and then completed his residency in internal medicine
at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota,
where he received the Graduate Travel Award for outstanding achievement
in internal medicine. Dr. Hearne did his fellowship in cardiology
at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.
Dr.
Hearne entered private practice of cardiology in Shreveport, Louisiana,
in 1981 as a member of Cardiology Associates.
Dr.
Hearne is board certified in both internal medicine and cardiology.
He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a fellow
of the American College of Cardiology. He serves as clinical associate
professor of medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport
in the Department of Pharmacology. Dr. Hearne concentrates his
practice on clinical office-based cardiology and cardiac prevention.
